MY 2010 WRITING RESOLUTIONS!
By nature, I tend to be very goal oriented.
Some folks might even say too much.:-)
But for me, a life without progress holds little purpose.
Are you feeling me here?
As such, I've come up with a few resolutions that I thought I'd post and put out there into
the universe!
So here for the first time...drum roll please!
1). I vow to expand my writing portfolio and my client base. I'm seeking to add at least four new ones by year end.
2). I vow to market more aggressively and consistently. I tend to indulge more in the writing process than the pitching.
3). I vow to keep forging forward amidst rejections, late payments, computer craziness, and life's daily demands.
4). I vow to update this Blog weekly (unless my computer or my health is down).
5). I vow to seriously seek agent representation for 2 self-help books--1 relationship, 1 how-to for writers.
6). "keep 6 in play."
7). Purchase, market and sell more of my poetry and anthology books.
8). Buy E-books from Hope Clark to identify more paying markets.
9). Purchase Writers Guide to 2010 (I'm quoted in this issue!--I think:-)
10). Sell to reprint markets.
How about you? What are you resolving to do better or differently this year as a writer?
I dare you to share and boldly step out there.:-)

Jennifer, I commend you on setting your goals and moving forward in your writing life. I would encourage you to pray for a few good connections that can take you to most places you want to go. That way, you won't have to work so hard because the work has already been done.:) One last thing, you may be able to get the Writer's Guide on Amazon for a fraction of a cost in a couple months. Don't know how quickly you need it.
ReplyDeleteAs for My writing/blogging goals for 2010:
1. Pitching to national magazines. I will be in Essence or Upscale before the end of this year.
2. Write and publish my book. I'll hold the title until after I copyright it. However, I do intend to seek grants to support this project.
3. Brand myself as a journalist, blogger and social media expert. (I am the For Dummies queen)
4. Brand Shorty as a south side resource.
5. Generate a cash flow from my Shorty and As NOT Seen on TV blogs.
6. Get paid to write/blog/travel at clients' expense.
I may be a little extreme...
Thanks so much for your input and your time.
ReplyDeleteI greatly value this information. I definitely need to pray more about "connections", because I am indeed working harder than I'd like to have things happen.:-) And I could use a "break".
Thanks too for posting your goals, this way we can hold each other accountable.
I admire you for your high goals and your optimistic attitude! Now, don't forget me when you hit the big times.:-) Keep going...
This is our year and we'll grow together!
ReplyDelete4 SURE!
