Sunday Sermon...Quotes to Live and Laugh By

Words have power.
Even the Good Book tells us that the power of life and death exists in the tongue.
As writers we are keenly aware that the thoughts we share in public forums have the power to educate, entertain, inspire, and sometimes serve as a catalyst for important change.

With this in mind, today`s post captures some of my favorite quotes. While a few are actually gems I uncovered in my recent readings.
Perhaps you'll find one that helps to cope with a chaotic week,  or one that can be used as a creative prompt for an expanded piece.

Please note: Due to a broken computer,  I am posting this via my new Tablet received as a gift.
I apologize in advance for any formatting issues or irregularities; I hope to be back on track soon...Thanks for your patience and your readership.

Have a great week ahead.

QUOTES WORTH NOTE

"The greatest revenge is to accomplish what others say you cannot do."

"Don't wait for your world to change. Change it yourself."

"Faith is like money, the more you have the more you can do."
Dr. Bill Winston

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow.  Learn as if you were to live forever."
Mahatma Gandhi

"The only true failure is the person who fails to try."

"Do great things in your life, but do small things as well."

"Don't strive to be better than others, strive to be better than your best self."

  1. Jennifer--I knew a quilter who used to say, "If you're green, you're growing." If we make mistakes, if we keep taking risks, that means we're stretching, we're branching out, we're increasing our skills.

And that is a good thing...

  2. Thomas Edison encountered many failures in his attempt to make the lightbulb. Instead of giving up, he used his experiences to learn what didn't work and moved forward.

May we all have that kind of perseverance.

  3. I remember my mother saying,"Did you learn anything ?" after I was in trouble for doing something she thought I shouldn't have.A friend of mine asked her children, "What did you learn?" Sometimes the best lessons we learn are what we experience when we make mistakes.

  4. Thanks for those quotes Jennifer, the first quote reminds me of a poster I once saw with on it an Image of an empty wheel chair on the top of a mountain, and a flying man hanging under
    a hang glider.

Although I don't think that that such an image doesn't in particular needs to be about actual revenge, it sure does paint a strong image of somebody that's thinking in solutions
    instead of in obstacles.
