Food for Thought...Motivational Quotes to Inspire and Enlighten

Greetings, readers!
I hope you've had a wonderful week--writing and otherwise.
As for me? The weather is really a bummer here. Would you believe it's snowing?
But, I'm keeping "warm" thoughts.
Until there's a temperature boost, I'll just have to uplift myself with positive words.
In this spirit, I share some of my favorite motivational quotes.
Enjoy! And have a great week ahead.
"Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt. Dance like nobody's watching."
--Leroy "Satchel" Paige
"Nothing is impossible to a willing heart."
--John Heywood
"Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body."
--Richard Steele
"No legacy is as rich as honesty."
--William Shakespeare
"The successful man will profit from his mistakes and try again in a different way."
--Dale Carnegie
"Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and it annoys the pig."
--Paul Dickson
"Your legacy should be that you made it better than it was when you got it."
--Lee Iacocca
"Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear--not absence of it."
--Mark Twain
"Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom."

--Victor Kiam

"Trust yourself. You know more than you think."

Thoughts? Any favorites here?
Which might you use as a clever writing prompt?

  1. These are all great quotes. I especially like the ones by Lee Iacocca, Mark Twain, and Dale Carnegie.

    1. Thanks so much, Quietspirit. Always great to hear from you!

  2. Thank you for that uplifting post. I love motivational quotes. I hope your snow melts soon.

  3. Thanks Lin, for your "uplifting" words. Glad you enjoyed this. :-)

  4. Well, the quote about the pigs stands out - I gave up teaching pigs to sing years ago. It really is a waste of time. :) Seriously though, I do like Iacocca's quote. Very inspiring. Thanks for the motivation and inspiration. Hope things are warming up for you!

I appreciate your time and feedback, Karen. Glad you got over that pig problem. :-)

  6. These are totally awesome quotes! Snowing here too - thanks for sending it along. LOL And that bean stuff looks yummy!

    1. Thanks a bunch, Sue. The bean salad? That little old thing. :-) I must say though, that it's one of my most popular salads. Folks love it when I bring it to parties or backyard BBQ's. I'll send the recipe if you would like. Just let me know. :-)
