Guest Post***The Roar Series** Poet Cop

VET COP
By: Gail Merriwether

Ever more life’s observer
Than participant
Master of evasive replies;
Effuses solid presence
With invasive edges
Upon entering any room.

Twenty years of bitter memories
Accrued like pension interest
Make the face
An irascible, authoritative frown
And
Eyes like Teflon-coated rounds
Force truth from evildoers.
Heart like a righteous rock
Ears that have Heard It All;
Twice.
