Kind of like an accessory. :) While my husband and I think a lot alike on issues like politics, finances, family values and such, we differ quite a bit in personality. He’s the E.F. All I know is I need someone who can listen, provide constructive feedback and encourage me to move forward in what I do because that's what I do.

However, I can't say that it would be a totally bad thing because we all have different interests and we can just bounce ideas off of each other.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7632640970016916029.post-47340892235477738182010-09-23T09:52:24.475-07:002010-09-23T09:52:24.475-07:00Wow, good feedback! I love your reference about the Brownings.

Thanks for stopping by and weighing in, Cynthia, :-)Jennifer Brown Banksnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7632640970016916029.post-6270447671935518442010-09-23T09:41:18.129-07:002010-09-23T09:41:18.129-07:00I think there are advantages -- but also possible ...I think there are advantages -- but also possible pitfalls. The advantages are that the other person understands what you do and appreciates what you go through. The pitfall can be if you're competing for the same markets. However, I'd say that, as long as you're not in direct competition, the understanding and appreciation bred of common "battles" and interests could make a potentially strong bond. Think of Robert and Elizabeth Barrett Browning. Of course, if you can create the kind of working relationship where each of you pursues different aspects of a similar range of interests, or if you know how to collaborate well, then I think that just draws you closer.

I suspect, however, that as in any relationships, the extent to which it works depends largely on how much work you put into making it work.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
