This meant no more sugar in my coffee, and I say no to nearly all cakes, cookies and the like. If you do this, there will be withdrawal symptoms - mostly I was cranky and I slept a lot - but within two weeks they were over for me. There have since been many positives: my digestion is better, my skin is better, my BP and my cholesterol are better, my gums are better, and amazingly, I have been able to give up my allergy medication because sugar is an inflammatory which often makes allergies much worse. My goal is to get more slee...Excellent points, Jen. My goal is to get more sleep and eat better this year. My husband and I are looking to cut back on sugar. I knew it was in a lot of foods, but had no idea how much and how many until paying better attention. I find I have to exercise too, or else I just feel too "sedentary". It feels good to move, and I will go so far as to take the steps instead of the elevator, and park farther away just to get some extra activity in the day.
